How to become a Medina County 4-H Volunteer

Deadline:  5:00 pm, October 31 of current year for Committee Helper Volunteers and December 31 of current year for Club Volunteers.

• Complete and submit the New Volunteer Application

• Schedule and complete your background check

  • Go to the State Attorney General's Office to help locate a center that will fit your schedule

• Bring your background check receipt and completed reimbursement form to our office

To remain a Medina County 4-H Volunteer

Annual Deadline:  April 15

• Complete online 4-H enrollment.

  • Volunteers discontinuing their service for one year or more must complete the New Volunteer Selection Process to become a 4-H Volunteer again

  • Years of service will pick up from those previously served

• Annually attend a  training on reporting child abuse and neglect

  • Activities and Programs with Minor Participants - Policy 1.50 requires all Ohio State University faculty, staff, appointees, students, student employees, graduate associates, and volunteers must complete an annual training through Ohio State Univesity in order to be compliant with Policy 1.50

• Be background checked once every four years

• Complete 4-H Online Re-Enrollment.  Video tutorial is available here.

  • Agree to follow the Volunteer Standards of Behavior

• Committee By-Laws - Please review prior to applying for any Medina County 4-H/Jr. Fair Committee

• Complete and submit the committee application to the our office
